Aeration Systems

Everyone in Union County who has an aeration treatment system is required by section 3701-29-09(C) of the Union County Sewage Treatment System Rules, to either have a service contract with one of the approved aeration service companies or maintain a basic system assessment permit from the Union County Health Department (UCHD). If you choose to have a permit through the UCHD, our office will inspect your system once a year and let you know how the system is working. All approved aeration service companies are required to notify the UCHD when an inspection is conducted and the results of the inspection. The approved aeration service companies are also required to notify the UCHD of the beginning and ending dates of the service contract. When these companies notify the UCHD a contract has not been renewed, that system is switched to the UCHD inspection program.
