New Mosquito Reporter Tool

The Union County Health Department is launching a new mosquito reporting tool. The online tool allows residents to report mosquito problem areas to the Health Department. Click here to report a mosquito problem area.

Reporting is easy. Just follow these simple steps.

1. Click on the link above.
2. Click on "Proceed as Guest".
3. Click the green "Submit a Report" button.
4. Fill out the short form. Please note, once you enter the address, you will need to click on the "Address: Esri World Geocode" drop down to select your location.
5. Click the blue "Report It button.

Your report is then added to our database. A sanitarian will investigate the complaint. The sanitarian will only follow up with the reporter if additional information is needed.  The online Mosquito Reporter is a surveillance tool to help us identify problem areas within Union County. We will use this data to help determine where to place mosquito traps and where to use mosquito larvacide to protect our community as a whole. Due to limited resources, we will not always be able to trap or place larvacide at every complaint location.

Free larvacide dunks are available to residents. These dunks can be placed in small, stagnant bodies of water such as those found in ditches. The dunks interrupt the mosquito lifecycle by killing larvae for up to 30 days. To get lfree arvacide dunks, please call 937-642-2053.

Zika Virus

Federal and state public health agencies are closely monitoring the Zika outbreak. The Union County Health Department will work closely with our local hospital, doctors, and first responders to ensure our community is prepared. While Ohioans are not at significant risk at this time, now is the best time for our community to prepare. For more information on how the healthcare system in Union County is preparing, please contact the Union County Health Department at (937) 642-2053 or via email at contact@uchd.net.
